About ME

Greetings! I am Joseph Isaac Jr., M.S. I’m a Human-Centered Computing Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Florida in the Computing for Social Good Lab under the advisement of Dr. Juan Gilbert.  My research interests are K-12 CS education, broadening participation in computing, human-computer interaction (HCI), and user experience (UX). My dissertation work investigates pedagogies to increase the interest and persistence of Black male adolescents in computer science in the United States.

My educational background includes a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an M.S. in Information Technology from the University of Maryland, Global Campus.

Currently, I am seeking full-time employment opportunities in user experience design and/or research starting January 2024.
